From the beautiful beaches of the Riviera Maya to the classic
resorts in Acapulco and even the historic charm of the colonial
cities like Guadalajara, there is a destination for everyone in
Mexico.!
The warm climate and beautiful scenery make for a stunning
combination in resorts such as Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos,
Huatalco and Mazatlan.
History fans, don’t feel left out! The Mayan ruins in the area of
the Yucatan are one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. There are
plenty more ancient ruins near Mexico City.
Spas abound in Mexico. Try out one in Ixtapa or even at one of the
luxurious all-inclusive resorts in and around Cancun.
Cozumel
Here you’ll find the world’s second largest barrier reef teeming
with all sorts of sea life for the SCUBA or snorkeling enthusiast.
History fans, don’t feel left out! The Mayan ruins in the area of
the Yucatan are one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. There are
plenty more ancient ruins near Mexico City. Spas abound in
Mexico. Try out one in Ixtapa or even at one of the luxurious
all-inclusive resorts in and around Cancun. Many of the great
restaurants of the world are opening locations in places like Puerto
Vallarta and Los Cabos.
Cancun
Surrounded on three sides by lagoon, bay and sea, it’s easy to see
the appeal of Cancun to anyone attracted to the water! The average
temperature of 80° with 240 days of sunshine doesn’t hurt, either.
Within easy proximity also are numerous Mayan cultural sites. It is
truly the old world meeting the new! Thousand-year old ruins lie
within sight of luxurious mega-resorts offering every amenity
imaginable. For golfers there are a variety of challenging courses
to choose from. Many resorts here are all-inclusive, offering all
meals, drinks, tips, and entertainment at one price, an attractive
option for budget-conscious travelers and families.
Puerto Vallarta / Riviera Nayarit
Nestled between the Sierra Madre Mountains and the huge Banderas Bay
on the Pacific Coast of Mexico lie lovely Puerto Vallarta and the
adjacent Riviera Nayarit. A perfect blend of exotic old world
charm, nature and cosmopolitan culture, Puerto Vallarta first came
to the attention of the world when Elizabeth Taylor and Richard
Burton met here for the filming of “Night of the Iguana”.
Since then, the area has grown in both popularity and sophistication
and now boasts world-renowned restaurants such as Café des Artistes,
chic boutiques and modern art galleries.
Los Cabos
I like to call this the Beverly Hills of Mexico. Two towns combine
to make the area twice as appealing. Cabo San Lucas, at the tip of
the Baja Peninsula, is the trendy party town while San Jose del Cabo
is the quaint and quiet fishing village. Each has its own charm!
Great restaurants, golf courses and party spots abound. You’ll find
Sammy Hagar’s Cabo Wabo downtown Cabo San Lucas and you’ll golf at
the courses you see on TV during the winter months. During the
winter you’ll also be treated to views of the 20,000 or so migrating
gray whales. Los Cabos is also the sportfisherman’s dream-come-true.
The Marina hosts Marlin, Swordfish, Sailfish and Dorado fishing
tournaments yearly.
Acapulco
Here is the classic tried and true resort, world renowned for its
variety, glamour and luxury. From the famous cliff divers to the
extensive nightlife scene, you will never be at a loss for something
to do in Acapulco. An average of 360 days of sunshine and 80°
temperatures make it all the more appealing!
